The Color Copier

Do you know that we have a rather nice multifunction printer/copier/scanner in the church office?...

Do you know that we have a rather nice multifunction printer/copier/scanner in the church office? It is really cool - we can print to it from almost anywhere in the church. And it does awesome color printout's and copies too.

The interesting thing is that we hardly ever use it. Well, that's not true. We use it to make copies in black and white almost every day. But we almost never make color copies of anything and I don't think that I have ever seen it used as a scanner. My guess is that it does lots of other things that I don't even know about.

So why do we only use it to make copies? I don't know. Maybe because it costs more to make color copies? Maybe because we don't know how to make anything but black and white copies? Maybe we don't see the potential in this awesome office machine for our ministry and our work?

The real tragedy is that most of us use our gifts to make 'black and white copies' when God has blessed us (invdividually and as a church) with incredible gifts that, with His Spirit, can produce unbelievable output - new fruit, new followers of Christ, deeper faith, changed lives - you get my point.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Give God thanks by offering not just a word of gratitude but giving God the chance to use what He's given you to produce awesome fruit instead of boring and predictable black and white stuff.

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Wine and Skins

"And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins—and the wine is destroyed, and so are the skins.
But new wine is for fresh wineskins." (Mark 2:22 English Standard Version)

You are experiencing both the new wine and the a new wineskin that God is making at Brookville First. The new wineskin is this re-launched website - a place where the community can see what God is doing in our church and the members of our church community can share with one another. We can also share with you the things we need for this journey of ministry.

Part of the new wine is this blog - a place where you can read each week some of what I am hearing from God. I ask you not just to read but to pray, to respond, to share what you hear God saying as we move together into God's future.
